A few of our past events…

Evening with the New Yorker Cartoonists

This event was hosted by The Strand and featured New Yorker  Cartoonists dishing on their rejected cartoons. Participants received autographed The Best of the Rejected edition.

Hudson Valley Orienteering

Co-led by one of our ex-military colleagues, this event featured a one-hour session with orienteering expert Daniel Schaublin (who has previously trained West Point Cadets) followed by a 2-hour on the ground competition.  Winners received “Golden Compasses” .

Life Drawing

One of the more giggle-inducing events, employees gathered in SoHo at Spring Street Studio to learn how to focus on the body as an object of art. A very challenging exercise!

Bread-making

Employees gathered in the Le Pain Quotidian SoHo location for a two hour hands on instructional on the intricacies and chemistry behind good bread making. Participants took home their own homemade pizza dough and several loaves of french bread.

Pottery

Curious colleagues found themselves on Superbowl Sunday covered in wet clay for some hands on wheel throwing action at Mud, Sweat, and Tears in Hell’s Kitchen. Participants learned the basics of wheel throwing, the importance of stable hands, and took home their own homemade mugs.

Improv with UCB

Coordinated with a happy hour Friday, UCB instructor John Timothy came and taught a two hour course on improvisation. Senior directors and business analysts mixed it up with their surprise dance skills, impressive acting skills, and all around inventiveness when put on the spot!
